Who will end the weekend top?
December 10th 2010 10:37
In recent weeks, it seems the leadership of the Premier League is changing hands every weekend. First Chelsea seemed to be in control, then Manchester United took over, now Arsenal go into this weekend in 1st place. But with four of the top five coming head to head over the next three days, who will be in top spot come Monday evening?
Arsenal travel to Manchester United on Monday night, one point clear of them at the top. A win for either side, would guarantee putting them top of the pile, for now. But before this match takes place, on Sunday afternoon, 5th placed Tottenham, take on Chelsea. The Champions form has dipped dramatically of late, and only a win at White Hart Lane could lift them back to the summit. Worryingly for the Blues, Spurs could close to just one point behind them with victory.
4th placed Manchester City travel to West Ham on Saturday, but given that they are three points behind the Gunners, and two behind city rivals United, they can't take top spot this weekend, but can close the gap.
I believe Chelsea will fail to win at Tottenham, meaning Arsenal will still be top heading to Old Trafford. But then, I feel Manchester United will reclaim the position, by getting the three points on Monday night.
