Who is your MVP!

December 6th 2010 13:43

Being fairly new to the World Football scene i am not even sure if the give out a MVP award. So for discussion sake who would be your MVP so far this season. As somebody has told me before stats can be deceiving in Soccer so it is hard for me to gauge the talent i guess.

I came up with five players that i think are having a great year and deserve some type of award.

These names are not listed in any order except for the first one who i fell is the MVP so far.

Carlos Tevez(Manchester City) 10 goals 4 assists
Luis Nani (Manchester United) 5 goals 8 assists
Andrew Carroll (Newcastle United) 9 goals 2 assists
Dimitar Berbatov(Manchester United) 11 goals 2 assists
Didier Drogba(Chelsea) 7 goals 6 assists

As you have noticed all players are offense. I haven;t watched enough to gauge the defense players and goalies but i wil try.

I like

Gareth Bale(Tottenham)
Joe Hart(Manchester City)
Petr Cech(Chelsea)
John Terry(Chelsea)
Nemanja Vidic(Manchester United)

This piece is more for a discussion piece so lets see what everyone else is thinking.

You've drawn up a very good shortlist there! Tevez has been carrying Man City, so maybe him. As a Newcastle fan i'd be tempted to be biased and say Carroll, but also Baines having a great season at Everton.

There is no MVP award, but there are player of the month awards. Last month's was won by Elmander at Bolton.

Great post mate, good idea!

MVP means most valuable player and to me Carlos Tevez has fit that bill perfectly. What else can you say for a guy that has been the only legitimate offensive threat this year for a disappointing Man City team? He has scored and created chances throughout this year. Without him, Manchester City would never be in contention for the top 3.

Agree with your view on tevez! but by that way of thinking, Vidic has been such a rock for Manchester United. But Tevez so far this season definitely!
