West Ham United

December 21st 2010 13:32

West Ham United
Position - 20th
Points - 13
Won - 2, Drawn - 7, Lost - 9
Top scorer - Scott Parker, Frederic Piquionne (4)
Star man - Scott Parker

In the Summer of 2010, West Ham owners David Gold and Sullivan, landed the manager they wanted to have at the healm. Avram Grant took over from Gianfranco Zola, with big expectation for the season ahead. The club held onto its most prized possessions, Parker, Cole, Green and Upson, as well as bringing in some new talent.

The future looks bright for the Hammers. A possible move into the Olympic stadium at Stratford in 2012, would see them boast arguably the best stadium in the Premier League. However, this bright future could be destroyed by relegation. Grant may well be on borrowed time, but the chairmen are sure to back the manager, whoever it may be, in the January transfer window.

West Ham have already been linked to Robbie Keane, Joey Barton, and even Emmanuel Adebayor. It has also been confirmed, that Villa midfielder Steve Sidwell is on the verge of signing. Sitting only three points from safety, I feel United will just about survive this season, but it will be close. The club have enough money, to buy their way out of trouble in January.

My prediction - 17th

I think West Ham will find themselves at 15th. Ireland, Parker, Piquionne, Cole, Upson, and Green are a too talented "Star Six". If they can get Sidwell and Keane or Barton, West Ham will definitely not be relegated.

It will be a battle all season could easily see them finish any where from 14th to 20th
