Some good injury news for NUFC

After a shocking couple of weeks for Newcastle United with injuries, I feel inclined, just to cheers myself up more than anything, to report on a couple of bits of good news injury wise. But first, the bad news .. Steve Harper's shoulder injury will keep him out for up to five months, meaning that recalling Fraser Forster from his loan spell at Celtic, to compete with Tim Krul for the number 1 jersey, is a real possibility. Steven Taylor and Dan Gosling are still a few months away from a return, and Hatem Ben Arfa, has broken his leg in two places, and will not return until at least march.
But, as I said, there is some good news for Magpies fans. Fabricio Coloccini limped out at Eastlands on Sunday, but he is fine, and will be fit to play after the International break. Sol Campbell is also now fully fit. And last night, in a reserves game against Aston Villa, Danny Guthrie and Danny Simpson, appeared in a black and white shirt for the first time this season. Guthrie completed 90 minutes in central midfield, while Simpson lasted 75 minutes at right back, the match finished goalless. Given James Perch's less than impressive start to the season, it is good to see first choice right-back, Danny Simpson, playing again.
This post is a little bit of clutching at straws, looking for positives in a turbulent couple of weeks at St James's Park. But with Ben Arfa staying on Tyneside for treatment, a positive is that this signals he is going to sign permanently next summer. It would not be beneficial for the player or the club, for him to stay, if this was not the case.
Just on another line, Brighton have confirmed there is no recall clause in Kazenga Lua Lua's loan deal. There was talk after Ben Arfa's injury, that the young winger would be recalled to serve as cover for Jonas and Routledge, but this will not be happening until at least January, when a recall clause does become active, which is the same with Forster's deal at Celtic.
