As well as Manchester United's 7-1 thumping of Blackburn, there were plenty more goals in the rest of Saturday's Premier League action. Seven other matches were played in freezing temperatures, but the entertainment did a lot to warm up the fans, of the winnings teams anyway.
The early kick off saw Arsenal travel to Villa Park for a tricky away game. After throwing away a 2-0 lead at home against Tottenham in the lunch time game last Saturday, the Gunners had another chance to temporarily go top of the Premier League. Again, they tried to throw away their lead, but this time, were just about to far in front.
Goals from Arshavin, Nasri and Chamakh had them 3-0 up, before a brace from centre back Ciaran Clark clawed Aston Villa back into it. Youngster Jack Wilshere wrapped up a big three points for Arsenal late on, making the full time scoreline, 4-2.
Bolton's impressive form nearly ended, but they battled back from 2-0 down, to draw 2-2 at home against Blackpool. Two headed goals from corners, scored by Evitt and Varney, had the Tangerines in a comfortable lead. Super sub Martin Petrov scored a brilliant long range goal to make it game on, before Mark Davies finished a lovely team move, to salvage a point for the Trotters.
Fulham and Birmingham City fought out a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage, which was just enough to lift the home side out of the drop zone. Dempsey equalised for Fulham, after Sebastien Larsson had the Brummies in front, after a great assist from Hleb. Wigan drop into the bottom three, after losing 3-1 at stuggling West Ham. The victory may ease a bit of pressure on Hammers boss Avram Grant.
Chris Brunt scored a stunning free kick at Goodison Park, helping West Brom to an impressive 4-1 at Everton. His goal made it 2-0 to the Baggies, who have been struggling lately, after Scharner had opened the scoring. The home side seemed to be back in it after Cahill headed home yet another goal, but Mikel Arteta's red card for stamping, ended their chances. Tchoyi and a Distin own goal rubbed salt in the wounds for Moyes' men.
2-1 down with 9 minutes left didn't stop Wolves from beating Sunderland, as Ebanks-Blake's 89th minute goal gave them a 3-2 victory, keeping them above West Ham and off bottom place. Saturday's final fixture saw Manchester City stutter to a 1-1 draw at Stoke. To be honest, if anyone deserved more from the match, it was Stoke.
Two more matches are scheduled for today, though the game between Newcastle United and Chelsea is in doubt, due to heavy snow in the North-east of England.
