Ronaldinho Can't Find A Home

With little interest from many of the world’s top flight clubs, Ronaldinho may be primed for a move to Manchester City. The former Barca mid-fielder is being offered a 200,000 a week deal to play for the England club, and they couldn’t make a worse decision. Ronaldinho’s recent little club production, in terms of work ethic and lack of playing, should mean more prima donna behavior for City when he arrives. Especially considering Ronaldinho still believing he’s a big world star, and probably considering himself too good for a club that couldn’t finish in the top four of their league.

But Ronaldinho isn’t very relevant to world football anymore, because he hasn’t shown up for a few years running now. Him abandoning his club last season doesn’t defend his ability much either. City should keep the money, and look for someone who will be more committed to the organization. Not someone who will whine and make excuses for his lack of production.

Drogba will be leaving Chelsea to go to AC Milan, for less than Chelsea’s proposed asking price of 30million in transfer fees. The blues shouldn’t really suffer much from the transfer though, given Drogba’s lack of passion in his play for the club last season. The mentally “not there” striker of last season, can hopefully be replaced with Anelka’s incredible forward ability. That is if they can stop Anelka’s crying about his career, and get him to play.

Or the blues can just go with their usual strategy, and instead of developing who they already have, bring in another player for an ungodly sum of money, hoping they can buy their way out of striker trouble. If they can find anyone, that is. Chelsea’s managerial trouble of the moment can’t do wonders for attracting new players to the London club.

I’m sort of curious to see who will actually take the highest paying, with the smallest job security, manager position in the world with Chelsea. Or if at the last minute they’ll have to find someone to settle on for the season.
