Too answer your two questions, firstly, no I didn't mistype. And secondly, no you didn't read the title to this post wrong. PSV 10-0 Feyenoord, was a result from Eredivisie yesterday. Despite being two of the best teams in the Dutch League, and evenly matched, the side from Eindhoven this weekend produced one of the greatest results in the club's history.
14-time Dutch Champions Feyenoord would not have seen the drumming coming, as the scoreline was a respectable 2-0 at half time. But eight second half goals, including a hat-trick from Brazilian Jonathan Reis, condemned them to their worst ever defeat. The previous record was an 8-2 loss to Ajax some 30 years ago, but this was some what worse. It is shocking to think such a scoreline could occur between two teams of such stature, in terms of the English Premier League, this is like Chelsea knocking ten past Manchester United.
The other seven goals were scored by Balazs Dzsudzsak (2), Jeremain Lens (2), Ola Toivonen, Ibrahim Afellay and Orlando Engelaar. The result sees PSV extend their lead at the top of the table, and definitely improve their goal difference! But given the lack of coverage Dutch football usually recieves, PSV are certainly the team on everyone's lips right now!
