Poor Mark Hughes

Mark Hughes can’t get his transfers to go right at the moment, and it’s unfortunate. I’ve never been a fan of Ronaldinho for my part, but you cannot deny the skill of the Brazilian to control the ball. Skill that Manchester City needs, but apparently are out of the running to acquire, because of increased interest from Chelsea. That’s unfortunate.
Because what Ronaldinho needs for his career isn’t a team where he can lose his starting spot in a second, because Chelsea don’t need him in the long run. What Ronaldinho needs to do is swallow his pride, and realize that after acting like a child last year at Barcelona, the perfect decision is to play for City to rebuild his now broken career.
Manchester City is poised to rise through the ranks very quickly under Mark Hughes, if only they can buy a couple more playmakers. If only Ronaldinho would sign on and start the influx of new talent, Hughes would be set. Richard Dunne would sign on again, with a better team and retaining his captaincy as huge motivators. Micah Richards wouldn’t even think about leaving for United, and you wouldn’t have to worry about losing any attackers, because who wouldn’t want to play with Ronaldinho in the squad?
Yes, I believe Ronaldinho is the key to City’s success next season, and Mark Hughes keeping his job for more than a year. As the United alumni has been threatened that no less than sixth place will do for City owner Thaksin Shinawatra next season. Which I need to point out is idiotic, and I hate when people that know nothing about football, like Thaksin Shinawatra, run football clubs. You don’t fire good managers, even if they don’t get the result you wanted, you have to give them time. Take a note Abramovich, you could learn something from that statement.
Without a big name signing Manchester City are in the same boat as last season, the one that capsized because of inconsistency of some less than reliable players in the bunch. Ronaldinho can change that, and help his own career being reborn as the same type of player that once won FIFA’s footballer of the year award. At Chelsea, he may be more likely to win a title. But nothing looks better than taking a lackluster team, and molding them into champions. Anyone can play on a loaded team and win a title, but a real champion can make what looks impossible, plausible.
