Not too bad for Mags

Obviously there is no way of dressing up a 3-0 defeat, Manchester United comfortably disposed of the new promoted Magpies without too much effort. The fact that Newcastle United players have to face up to, is that in this league, missed chances and mistakes will be punished.
Last season we could try new things, be inventive and a little risky, and still pick up good results along the way. This season however, the Toon have to be disciplined. Andy Carroll missed a glorious chance to put us 1-0 up at Old Trafford with a free header, and missed the target. No one expects any striker to put every chance away, but away against one of the best teams in Europe, chances like that at 0-0 cannot be missed. Then Jonas tried running the ball out of defence leading to the opening goal for Berbatov. Last season the Argentinian could do that all day long, but he will be tackled and punished in this league.
The other two goals were quality, and Manchester United are simply a much team than us. 3-0 is not a disgrace, and we have to put this result behind us and move onto Aston Villa at home next week. Not many teams expect to take anything from Old Trafford, so at least the fixture is out of the way. No Newcastle fan should be disheartened after tonight's result!
