It appears that former West Ham, Charlton and Southampton boss Alan Pardew, will be named Newcastle United manager within the next 24 hours. Mike Ashley sacked Chris Hughton because he wanted a manager with more Premier League experience, and has opted for Pardew. The only PL experience he has, is how to get teams relegated from the league.
This is the latest episode in Ashley bringing a 'Cockney Mafia' to St James' Park. Not long after buying the club, he appointed Dennis Wise as director of football. Now Pardew's appointment will come just days, after it was uncovered that he, Ashley and Toon director Derek Llambias, are friends from a London casino. How fantastic!
My head is telling me that as a Magpies fan, I have to accept the new manager, and give him my full backing. But my heart refuses to let me. Hughton should still be there, and the only man who disagrees, unfortunately, is the useful fool making decisions. I am almost certain, that Alan Pardew will not take the club forwards.
Newcastle United have called a press conference for tomorrow morning to appoint the new manager. Jol's departure from Ajax obviously has nothing to do with the vacant post in the North east, with the new boss being named so soon. And after Pardew was spotted enjoying lunch with Llambias in Newcastle yesterday, his appointment is almost a certainty.
To avoid the risk of using poor language, I'm not going to comment any further on this potential development at the club.
