Well, it has been a fantastic weekend to be an Arsenal fan! Yesterday, Manchester United were held to a draw at Aston Villa, and Manchester City drew 0-0 at home against Birmingham City. So the Gunners had a chance to benefit and jump back to 2nd in the table at Everton, and did so with an impressive 2-1 victory. To make things even better, leaders Chelsea were shockingly thumped at home by Sunderland, meaning the Gunners were the only team in the top four to win this weekend.
Goals from Bakary Sagna and Cesc Fabregas had the Londoners 2-0 in front at Goodison Park. A late Tim Cahill strike gave the Toffees a chance, but Arsenal secured a huge three points by holding on for the win. Chelsea followed on Super Sunday, and would not have been expecting the result they got. Goals from Onuoha, Gyan and Welbeck, gave the Wearsiders an incredible 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge. This was only Chelsea's second defeat of the season, and first home league loss under Ancelotti. The results leave Arsenal just two points behind the Champions, with Manchester United one point further back, and Man City another three points behind.
