Dimitar Berbatov Edging Closer To United
August 18th 2008 20:21
Dimitar Berbatov has officially, essentially, kind of, admitted his interest in moving to Manchester United. The current Tottenham striker has said to his club, that he hopes they will make the right decision in letting Berbatov make his 'dream move'. Although the Bulgarian never mentioned specifically any desire to play in Red, the intention of becoming a Man U man, given the controversy surrounding such events, seems fairly evident.
And United would be lucky to have him, as Sir Alex is down to the bare bones in terms of striking components and overall attacking elements:
Given that so far United will not have available next week, Nani, Anderson, Giggs, Carrick, Campbell, Hargreaves, Ronaldo, Park, and Saha to name a few.
So Sir Alex should be pushing for a Berbatov move, or for Theirry Henry move, as he's hinted at. Because United desperately need something to motivate the club, because Wayne Rooney can't do everything himself.
Although it's worth mentioning that I think Theirry Henry would be better for Man U, as he's more of a dedicated forward striker, which is what United do not have, and won't gain through Berbatov. Rooney is better coming from the middle of the pitch, and Tevez does basically the same thing. Play a 4-4-1 with Rooney behind Henry, and you have one hell of a striking component, as Henry is famous for his ability to get into open space, and feed other players should need be, once he's there.
