Arsenal 6 Braga 0

While it could be argued the Portuguese side didn't really give Arsenal too much of a game tonight, there is no doubting that when the London side play like this, they are genuine contenders for the Champions League trophy. Having never won the competition, and this years final to be held at Wembley, the Gunners will be desperate for success, and what a start to the campaign they made.
An early penalty from Fabregas set them on their way, before lovely team play set up goals for Andrey Arshavin and Chamakh. Going in at half time 3-0 in front, Arsenal looked irresistible, with Wilshere, Fabregas, Nasri and Arshavin, running the show, and leaving their opponents heads in a spin with their creativity.
The second half was like a practice match, with the pure class of the Arsenal attackers on show. Fabregas added his second from Arshavin's inch perfect cross, before the Russian teed up substitute Carlos Vela with his final touch before being subbed. The unselfish skipper, on a hat-trick, slotted Vela in late on for his second, and Arsenal's sixth.
No-one doubts Arsenal's attacking ability, and this performance was without the injured Van Persie, Bendtner, Walcott and Diaby. The real tests will come later in the competition, as last season against Barcelona, they were out-performed at their own game. But with displays like tonight, the fans have reason to be optimistic about their sides chances this season.
