Anelka Whines

Nicolas Anelka is crying in the press again, stating that his career has been all downhill, ever since he left Arsenal in ‘99. All of it can of course be attributed to his horrible career decisions. Doing nothing at a big club like Real Madrid. Then completely achieving glory again, in the upset role in Bolton, with a wonderfully talented club of under-rated players, that had the potential to do great things. But instead of building with the squad and building his career, he jumped at a paycheck and now is rotting at Chelsea.
Chelsea, the club that doesn’t strategize and instead buys players forcing them into any number of positions they aren’t comfortable playing.
The potential for everything at Bolton, if he just continued to put in his time, and play the role be was becoming brilliant at. If only he could have stayed on course, Anelka was becoming a huge name at Bolton again, with the doors for a huge career once more looming. And before he was ready, and definitely too soon, he jumped ship for a big club. You just can’t do that.
It’s the same situation Gareth Barry is in with Aston Villa, all he wants to do is leave for Liverpool and play Champions League football. Defending his decision by saying that the only way he’ll get starts for England is by playing European football more. But jumping after a bigger club to get there is the wrong decision, especially to receive the attention of Capello. What would get his attention more, getting to the Champions League because you switched to a bigger club, or redoubling your efforts with Villa and pulling off an amazing feat and achieving European football?
It’s hard to do, faced with the taste of success and bigger paychecks, but sometimes you have to wait and stay the course, for a better future.
