Adebayor to Italy?
June 6th 2008 14:02
AC Milan, presumably in an effort to revamp the team, and improve chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season, have put up a 32million bid for Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor. If Arsenal accept the offer, it could be a huge blow to the club, as their striker shortage and gun-shy attitude in front of goal, severely hurt their campaign last year. Arsenal seemed to just run out of gas towards the end of the season. Maybe if Arsenal start offering their players more money, maybe Wenger can keep hold a few that can win him some silverware for once.
Cristiano Ronaldo is finally admitting his desire to make a move to Real Madrid this summer, if Real can put up enough money to Manchester United for the Portuguese mid. Which will be a horrible move for Ronaldo, because no matter how good you are now, when you change the formula, who knows how you’ll play next year. Just look at the almost not there anymore skills of former FIFA Player Of The Year, Thierry Henry for Barcelona. Henry made a cocky career move, and now he’s useless, at a growing more and more useless club, after having been on top of the Premiership world.
Ronaldo needs to ask himself, how much of his performance is Ronaldo’s own talent, and how much is influenced by the talent around him. He’s got the best team in the world built around him right now, in Manchester United. They’ve just captured a huge double, and look stronger than ever, and he wants to break up the club for some money. I know I keep talking about this, but selfish players bother me. As it’s a common news story in the football world, I have to read about it every day, and it enrages me.
I hope he goes to Real Madrid and rots like every other former United star in the squads history has. He’s going to risk his entire career on unproven ground for a paycheck, he deserves any failure he may receive. Ronaldo may be the best in the world, but it’s Manchester United that has made him so. People ignore or forget that, Ronaldo doesn’t make Portugal all that much more brilliant, because the players around him aren’t on par with his talents. The same thing will happen at Real if he’s not careful. Just wait and see.
